Ambassador Takeda and Deputy Minister of Economy Evgeni Angelov attended the official signing ceremony. This is the second credit line from the Japanese financial institution.
Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) has negotiated a new credit line for 20 million Euro from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). The Loan agreement was signed today in Sofia by the executive directors of BDB - Dimitar Dimitrov and Sasho Tchakalski, as well as Toshirō Măcin – JBIC’s Executive Director for Europe and Middle East. The purpose of the Agreement is to promote the economic cooperation between Japan and Bulgaria. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of Japan HE Tsuneharu Takeda and the Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Evgeni Angelov.
The funds will be used for lending to Bulgarian companies. Any company from any sector of the Bulgarian economy purchasing equipment and services produced and delivered by Japan may apply for financing. BDB will provide loans with a maximum tenor of 10 years and a grace period according to the specifics of each project.
This is the second credit line negotiated between the Bulgarian Development Bank and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation for the financing of Bulgarian companies. BDB has so far successfully utilized 10 million euro from the financial institution.
Japan Bank for International Cooperation is part of the Japan Finance Corporation and is aimed at developing both the international and the Japanese economy. At the end of 2008 the bank's assets amounted to 9 757 billion Japanese yen (BGN 146.5 billion).
