Bulgarian Development Bank gives the banks a hundred millions Leva to fund farmers

The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) will grant 100 millions Leva for the funding of agricultural producers and farmers. The resources shall be given in the form of targeted credit lines by the Bulgarian commercial banks. The Bulgarian Development Bank AD (BDB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) have signed a Guarantee Agreement on February 13, 2009 for the establishment of a guarantee line in the amount of up to EUR 60 million. Thus, BDB has become the first financial intermediary of the EIF in Bulgaria under the European Communities’ Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme for SME (CIP 2007-2013).Bulgarian Development Bank provided BGN 230 million to 12 commercial banks for loans to local small and medium-sized firms
