02.10.2018 BDB’s Chief Executive Stoyan Mavrodiev met BSTDB’s new president Dmitry Pankin

Stoyan Mavrodiev, Chairman of the Managing Board and CEO of the Bulgarian Development Bank, met the new President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) Dmitry Pankin.
The topics of discussion included potential joint support of export and pre-export financing programs for SMEs, joint operations on regular and mutual business markets, and others. The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank also expressed its interest in supporting municipal projects.
Bulgaria is a founding member of the BSTDB since 1994 and an active shareholder with 13.5% or 270,000 shares. During the first international economic forum of BDB this year, the two banks signed a Memorandum of Cooperation along with four other regional financial institutions. The main objective of the document is: structuring of external financing, exchange and promotion of best practices for infrastructure financing and trade improvement.
During the meeting with Dmitry Pankin in Sofia, the main topic of the BDB’s Economic Forum was extended to cooperation in regards to structuring of resources, financing of regional cross-border infrastructure, as well as BSTDB’s strategic objectives to increase the investment projects’ financing in the infrastructure sector. The investment policy of BSTDB and the opportunities for co-financing, especially for Bulgarian public infrastructure, were highlighted during the conversations.
